Extra Credit post [ stargirl ]

The story starts on the first day of school, and everyone is talking about the new girl, Stargirl.  She has been home-schooled all her life and, for the first time, is coming to public school.  However, she makes an unusual appearance as she comes attired in a long dress and carrying a pet rat named Cinnamon.  They realize immediately that she is different!  What is most unusual is her kindness to other people.  She sings “Happy Birthday” to everyone in the lunchroom and gives candy to people in her homeroom on holidays.  People at first think she isn’t real because she acts so nice.  But soon everyone begins to like her and follow her around.  But everything changes when a classmate named Leo realizes he is in love with Stargirl.  Suddenly, Stargirl finds herself being shunned by the other students and treated as a nobody!  Desperate to change his first true love, Leo tries to improve Stargirl, but he discovers that it would only hurt him self.

I like this book a lot because it teach me that you should be your self and not try to be something that you are not it because what you are is what you are and you should always be your self. I also learned that you should be how people would think that they would like you to be because star girl was really nice to everyone and everyone really like her and they wanted to be her friend.

B ecause Of Romek Final Post

Question" Which part of the book did you find MOST shocking or disturbing , out of the many horrifying events? Why? (5 pts)

1. I think the most shocking and disturbing part out of all the other horrible stuff that the Germans did to the Jews was when they killed his family because the soldiers seen like they where happy about what they had done and they where laughing and I could feel the feeling that David had when he saw the soldiers killed his sisters and his mom and he still try to survived after seen the soldiers killed his family and he was really strong and pulled him self up to try to survived and not let the soldiers killed him.

Question :2. Which job does David get in Krawinkel Camp that helps him survive and avoid some hardships? Describe his experiences. (5 pts)

2. David got a job that help him survive one of the concentration camps that was serving coffee and bread to the workers. I think he felt lucky because he had an easy job and he didn't have to work how the soldiers made him work which was really hard.

Question: 3. Describe the conditions at the camp Bergen-Belsen near the end of the war. What happens to
David while he is there for the last few weeks of the war?

3. David went to a lot of camps but the worst one I think it was the Bergan- Belsen because everyone that was close to survived they all died because the soldiers would only give them food if they would work by dragging the bodies and most of them didn't even have enough energy to do that because when the Germans give them food it was not anought.

Question: 4. Describe a moment of triumph near the end of the book for David. In other words, discuss a moment he feels pride in his ability to survive and/or happiness that it's over. (5 pts)

4. I think David felt triumph when his sister's husband visit him and started telling him how they meat and when he show him and picture of his sister because he felt like he was not alone and he was happy that he had found his sister.
I think on other moment when David felt triumph was when everyone was saying that they where free and everything was over because it made him happy and straight to survive.

question:
5. Write a persuasive paragraph using the following thesis statement as your first sentence. Use your own opinions, evidence from David Faber's speech, and/or the book itself, to prove the thesis statement is true. (10 pts)

David Faber's book, Because of Romek, should be required reading in all middle schools, high schools, and universities because all students need to learn about the horrors of the Holocaust.

5. David Faber's book, because of Romek, should be required reading in all middle school, high school and universities because all student of all ages should learned how hard life was in the Holocaust and how lucky they are for not having to go through the horrors of the Holocaust.

In order to learn about the Renaissance and learn how it was like to live in the Renaissance we had a choice of people in history who lived in the Renaissance, that we wanted to learn about about and we had to reaserch about our person and we had to write a biography with the information that we had found in our reaserch, and them we where required to learn a dance from the renaissance and we had to dance it with a partner that was the same class letter and while we where dancing we had to used a renaissance Alphet or we had the choice of wearing an alphet that our person wear or an alphet that look like it.

My person was “Bloody Mary Tudor” so I was required to learn about her early life, family and a lot of other different facts about her, some of the facts that I learn about her was that she was born on February 18th 1556 and she was the Queen of england and became Queen after her dad “King Henry VII” and “Catherine of Aragon”, her job as being the Queen of england was to take england to go back to the Catholic faith and she earn the name “Bloody Mary” because she killed many people who refuse to go back to the Catholic fight. She married her own cousin Philip King of Spain but she only married him to try to bring onother Catholic ruler like her. I also learn how people would dress in the Renaissance time and I learned a dance from the Renaissance. I explore the concepts of learning about “Mary Tudor” because she was really interesting and every time I reasearch about her i found more and more interesting facts about her and I also explore the concept of the Renaissance dance because it was fun dancing with my friends and learning something new.
In this project I learn how to dance like they did in the Renaissance and I got a lot better at reaserching and typing a biography.

I enjoy this project because I learn a lot of new stuff and everything I learn i found really interesting and I like learning the Renaissance dance. I feel like I could have done better on this project because I was not sure of how to organize my biography and I didn't put some information in my biography. Next time, I would use my time better and try to make a longer biography.
